How We Gather In Worship

Our Sunday service begins at 10:00 am and is offered both in person and online and you’re welcome to join us from wherever you are.

You’ll be able to follow along comfortably, whether you are in the sanctuary or online. Visuals and song lyrics are shown on screen for everyone.

Dress is casual and the atmosphere is warm, relaxed and inviting.

In Person Welcome at the Door

If you join us in person, you’ll be welcomed by one of our volunteer greeters as you arrive.

If you feel comfortable letting them know it’s your first time, they’ll gladly show you around and answer any questions you may have.

Healing Blessings

Healing Blessings

Take a seat for a healing blessing conducted by our wonderful Healing Pathway team.

Available prior to the Sunday Service from 9:30a - 10:00a

Children Are Welcome

Children are always welcome to join us! During the service, there is a children’s time, and a candle is lit to honour children and youth.

They are welcome to stay in the service, or, after the children’s time, someone is available to take them out of the sanctuary for an activity if you prefer.

Reconciliation Candle

Each week, we offer a land acknowledgement and light a candle of reconciliation as a sign of our ongoing commitment to seek healing and deeper community with our Indigenous sisters and brothers.

During the Service

Those gathering in person are welcome to sit (or stand) wherever they feel comfortable. There are times when we sing hymns together, and you are invited to stand if you wish.

We announce an offering after our prayers, but financial gifts are collected in a basket at the back of the sanctuary rather than passed around. If you prefer, you may also offer donations online.

We never want money to be a barrier to your participation in our community. During the offering, we recognize that there are many ways to share gifts at Oasis - not only financial.

Close and Continue in Community

At the close of the service, participants stand or sit in a circle to sing the closing circle song.

Following worship, coffee, tea and goodies are available for everyone to share.

Communion

We celebrate communion on the first Sunday of each month. If you are unable to attend in the morning, you are welcome to join our online communion service at 7:00 pm.

Masks Are Available

As an Affirming congregation, caring for those who are most vulnerable is part of our commitment to one another.

As such, we recommend (but do not require) that participants wear a mask as part of our Sunday gathering. Masks are available for anyone who wishes to wear one.

Beyond Sunday Morning

Although Sunday mornings are a significant time of gathering together, the life of our church community extends beyond the Sunday morning service.

You are invited to take part in the many activities and events we offer and know that you don’t need to attend on Sunday morning to be involved.
