As September equinox rolls by, the chances that one can catch the aurora borealis display increases for those located at high Northern Hemisphere latitudes.   Nasa states that the Equinox periods are prime time for Northern Lights/geomagnetic activities. These take place almost twice as much in the Spring and Autumn verses the Summer and Winter.
